We are looking to switch accountants but want to retain our bookkeeper, do you work with external bookkeepers?

We have many large clients with in-house bookkeepers. Although we only prepare annual accounts for these clients we are in regular contact with their bookkeepers throughout the year and always on hand to help with technical issues.

Your service seems to be very much technology driven but I am not great with computers, is that ok?

The software we offer to clients is really easy to use. As its online you never need to worry about installing or upgrading. Receipt Bank lets you take pictures of your invoices with your phone and upload them to Xero, its that simple and one of Xero’s main selling points is its ease of use. We have clients who can just about turn on their PC and the still manage to do all their sales invoicing on Xero.

You seem quite modern and informal does this mean that professionalism is being sacrificed?

We certainly are a new breed of accountancy firm with a non-stuffy approach but at the end of the day we are Chartered Accountants and regulated by the Institute as strongly as any other firm and we have been in business for more than 20 years.

I’m based in Dublin and you are in Killarney, how would that work?

90% of communication with accountants nowadays is by email and phone. As Xero is cloud based it allows for incredibly easy sharing of data. We do meet our clients whenever they like but honestly it rarely needs to be more than once a year when year-end accounts are reviewed. We have more clients based outside Kerry than in the county and as far away as New York, Canada, New Zealand…and Cobh.
